We can play online games using PCs, Mobile phones, Tablets, Laptops etc. Online games can sometimes be downloaded free of cost and at times you require a download cost to play online games. Online games are available in multiple genres including first-person shooters, strategy games, and massively multiplayer online role-playing games like ludo, chess, rummy etc.  In 2019, the total revenue of online games reached $16.9 billion, with $4.2 billion generated by China itself and $3.5 billion in the United States and the rest of the revenue was generated by the other parts of the world.

Online games are played by people of variety of ages, nationalities, and occupations. We have recently evidenced it during the COVID-19 that how online gaming has helped the people specially the youth to remain distracted when everything was almost shut down and kept them away from causing them anxiety.

But as it always said that excessive of anything is bad same goes for online gaming as well. Playing online games for an extended period of time can also lead to addiction as a result of it can make people specially the children obese at a very young age leading to health issues. Online gaming is always prone to the risk of hacking. The cost of downloading an online game can sometimes be very high also. Therefore, we can conclude by this that online gaming can act as a boom or bane depending upon various factors that surrounds it.
